LNK Premium: products highlighted in your categories, with image and video
In a grid where every product has the same size, nothing sets apart the new arrival, the flagship product or the limited edition. LNK Premium lets you make it a premium product from its page: a wider, taller or twice as large tile, a video that starts on hover and a badge. It keeps its place in the sort order, and your LNKBOOT theme displays it.

Highlight a product from its page
On the product page, a Highlight tab gathers everything: turn on the premium product, choose its format in the lists, add a media and a badge. No other screen to learn. A catalog page lists the premium products of the shop, with a link to each one.
Three formats in the grid
Wide over two columns, tall over two rows, or large over two columns and two rows. The premium product stays in its place in the sort order chosen by the customer: only its size changes, and the grid fills up with no gap. On mobile, it takes the full width.
A product video in the category
A short video hosted on your shop, MP4 or WebM, starts on hover on a computer, muted when the tile is visible, or on click, as you choose. Nothing is downloaded before: the video only loads when the customer can see it. A YouTube video can also be chosen; it only loads on click, and nothing is requested from YouTube before.
A translated badge
Favourite, Limited edition, New: a short text on the tile, 24 characters at most, translated into every language of the shop.
Light and fast
Figures measured on the shipped module, compressed with gzip (level 9). No CSS from the module: the grid is in the theme. A single script, 1.6 KB, without jQuery, loaded only on list pages and only if an active premium product has a video. Without a premium video, the module loads nothing.
The settings of a whole page are read in a single query, whatever the number of products shown.
Checked video files
The type of each video is checked on the file itself, not on its name: a file that is not an MP4 or WebM video is refused. Videos are 8 MB at most, stored under a random name in a folder where no script can run, and deleted when you replace them or delete the product.
Compatible with PrestaShop 1.7.6, 8 and 9
Two versions of the module, one per generation: 1.1 for PrestaShop 1.7.6 to 8.x, 1.9 for PrestaShop 9, with the native tab of the product page. LNKBOOT themes display it in their own style; on another theme, the module applies a standard rendering that follows your settings. No override.
Frequently asked questions
How do I highlight a product in a PrestaShop category?
Open the product page, Highlight tab, and turn on Premium product. Choose its format in the lists, add a video and a badge if you wish, then save. Your LNKBOOT theme shows it larger in the product lists.
Does the premium product change the order of products?
No. It keeps its place in the sort order chosen by the customer, by price, newness or relevance. Only its size changes, and the grid fills up with no gap.
Which video can I add?
An MP4 (H.264) or WebM video of 8 MB at most, hosted on your shop; about thirty seconds is enough. You can also give a YouTube video, which only loads on click.
Does the video slow down my pages?
No. It is only downloaded when the customer can see it: on hover, when the tile becomes visible, or on click, depending on your setting. It does not start on its own if the customer has asked to reduce animations or to save data.
What does the module load on my pages?
With a LNKBOOT theme: no CSS, a single 1.6 KB compressed script, without jQuery, and only on the list pages of a shop that has at least one premium video. With another theme, the standard rendering adds a stylesheet and a script (about 1.5 and 2.3 KB compressed), only on lists that show a premium product. Without a premium product on screen, nothing is loaded.
What if I upload a file that is not a video?
It is refused with a clear message. The type is checked on the content of the file, not on its name, and videos are stored under a random name in a folder where no script can run.
Does the module work with my current theme?
Yes. A LNKBOOT theme displays premium products itself, in its own style. On another theme (Classic, Hummingbird, marketplace themes), the module applies a standard rendering that follows your settings: tile over 2 columns, 2 rows or 2 × 2, badge and video. The other products keep their place and size.
How many products can I highlight?
200 by default, a number you can change on the LNK Premium page of the catalog. This limit keeps the lists light.
Is the module compatible with PrestaShop 9?
Yes. Version 1.9 is made for PrestaShop 9, with a native tab in the product page. Version 1.1 covers PrestaShop 1.7.6 to 8.x.
What happens if I uninstall the module?
Its tables, its settings and its videos are deleted. Your products and your lists are not changed. It installs no override.
